The former Bayern, Barcelona and Juventus player and his teammates from Colo Colo are suspected of sexually assaulting a woman at a party.
Chilean soccer star Arturo Vidal (37) and his teammates from Colo Colo are suspected of sexually assaulting a woman at a party, the state prosecutor’s office in Santiago de Chile announced.
In a brief statement, the prosecutor’s office announced that “there is a report of sexual assault” directed at “Colo Colo players,” including Vidal, but “no one has been arrested.”
The names of the other players have not been released, Hina reported, citing AFP.
According to local media reports, the sexual assault took place in the early hours of Monday morning at a nightclub in Santiago, where a group of Colo Cola players were having a party.
As reported by Radio ADN, the unnamed 22-year-old claims that she was drugged in a bar in the Vitacura district of Santiago.
Police officer Gerardo Aravena told reporters that 37-year-old Vidal was brought to the police station for an identity check. He added that this is standard police procedure when a person is suspected of having committed or attempted to commit a crime.
Vidal made 142 appearances for the Chilean national team and scored 34 goals, and during his career he played for Barcelona, Bayern, Inter and Juventus.
He has been in Colo Colo since January of this year.
