Gary Neville has issued a two-word warning to Arsenal and Liverpool after Manchester City’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Following this loss, Neville named Arsenal and Liverpool as the main contenders for the Premier League title, alongside City.
The defeat marked City’s fifth consecutive loss across all competitions, which has opened the door for other clubs, including Chelsea and Brighton, to challenge for a top-four finish.
On Sky Sports, the former Manchester United defender encouraged both Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Arne Slot’s team to be confident in their title aspirations.
He warned, however, that while Arsenal and Liverpool should feel hopeful, they must not become complacent, stating, “There are no excuses now.”
Neville expressed particular concern for Arsenal, noting that at the start of the season, many were uncertain about the direction of Arteta’s team, but now, if it’s not City’s season, it could very well be Arsenal’s.
