Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has urged the club’s leadership to sign a La Liga player to strengthen the squad this season. Reports indicate that Barcelona has already begun efforts to reinforce their team, with a particular focus on improving the defense. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, while Flick is satisfied with the team’s performance, he feels the squad still lacks depth in key areas, especially in defense.
The report goes on to say that Flick has suggested signing Andrei Ratiu, a defender from Rayo Vallecano, who has been under the club’s consideration for several months. Ratiu has become one of the standout defenders in La Liga, and Flick sees him as a valuable addition to provide support for Jules Kounde, allowing him some rest.
This season, Ratiu has featured in 11 matches for Rayo Vallecano, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His versatility, including the ability to play as a winger when needed, is something Flick appreciates.
Although Ratiu’s contract includes a release clause of 28 million euros, Rayo Vallecano’s financial struggles could lead them to sell him for a lower fee in the upcoming winter transfer window.
