Arsenal is targeting an additional Premier League striker, valued at £45 million.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal is one of several top clubs tracking Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap. The 21-year-old has impressed in the Premier League this season, scoring six goals despite playing for a team currently battling relegation.
Delap’s performances have drawn attention from several clubs across Europe and the UK. Arsenal is reportedly in competition with Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Ajax, and PSV, all of which are watching the England U21 international.
Reports suggest Ipswich could demand a transfer fee of €40-50 million for Delap, but Manchester City may have the upper hand.
If they decide to re-enter the race, City could be favorites to secure him due to a £20 million buy-back clause.
Arsenal’s interest in Delap aligns with their ongoing search for attacking reinforcements. The club has been linked with high-profile strikers in recent windows, such as Alexander Isak of Newcastle, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP, Mateo Retegui of Atalanta, and Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford.
Arsenal reportedly targeted Isak last summer, but Newcastle was reluctant to sell. Isak remains a strong option, given his standout performances and a playing style reminiscent of Thierry Henry, though a deal would likely cost over £100 million.
Sesko, another player linked with Arsenal, chose to stay at RB Leipzig, while Gyökeres has impressed at Sporting CP, drawing interest from Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Mbeumo and Retegui could still be potential targets.
Delap offers a more affordable, long-term solution for Arsenal, with his recent performances suggesting he’s ready to take on a bigger role and strengthen Mikel Arteta’s attack.
