Images of shame unfolded in the sheffield derby between her United and her Wednesdaywhen some of the visitors’ fans tarnished the memory of the deceased George Baldock.

A few hours after the incident, Sheffield Wednesday issued a statement, taking an official position on the incident. In fact, informing that he will conduct an investigation to identify the perpetrator.
In detail, what the announcement states:
“The club is aware of an image circulating on social media and strongly condemns this heinous act. We are working alongside South Yorkshire Police for an immediate investigation and make it absolutely clear that there is no place in football or in society for such abhorrent behaviour.”
The home team, Sheffield United, issued a similar statement, stressing that it will cooperate with the relevant authorities to find the fan.

“We are aware of what happened in Sunday’s derby and will be working with our counterparts at Sheffield Wednesday and South Yorkshire Police to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and punished.”
