Two months ago, Cristiano Ronaldo warned about what Kylian Mbappé might experience at Real Madrid. The French forward, who was signed last summer to add value to a team already crowned European and Spanish champions, is currently going through a difficult patch.
His performances have been heavily criticized, especially after missing two crucial penalties in recent defeats.
Many observers are questioning Mbappé’s ability to handle the immense pressure at Real Madrid. Some are recalling Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments from September.
In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, the Portuguese legend expressed some skepticism about Mbappé’s arrival:
“The Real Madrid experience is not the same as PSG.”
Ronaldo said, “We’ll see if he has a clear mindset and if he can handle the pressure, because Real Madrid is not PSG, I can guarantee you that!
Mbappé is going there, and the question will be: will Real Madrid be better with him? We don’t know, we’ll have to wait to judge.” He continued, “I think Real will remain a great team, but I’m not sure they’ll be better than last year. Only God knows. But they have fantastic players.”
Now, Ronaldo’s words are resurfacing and spreading on social media, especially as Mbappé finds himself at the center of criticism.
His current struggles seem to validate the cautious analysis the Portuguese made, where he expressed doubts about the French star’s adaptation to Real Madrid.
