On December 6, 2024, Canal+ released the first excerpts of an interview with Kylian Mbappé, conducted by Mouloud Achour, set to air this Sunday on the show Clique. The French forward, hailing from Bondy, shares the reasons behind his decision to speak publicly.
Mbappé is about to speak out. Just two days after announcing the exclusive interview with the Real Madrid striker on Clique, Canal+ revealed initial clips of the conversation on Friday afternoon.
In the interview, Mbappé explains his decision to speak: “The problem, you see, is that when you’re a star, if you don’t speak, others will do it for you. Because they have to talk about you,” he says, revealing the pressure that comes with fame.
“Every day, there’s something (in the media), even though I haven’t spoken to anyone. That’s why I’m talking to you today. At some point, you have to speak out, so that people listen.”
The interview promises to be intimate and insightful, going beyond just sports. Canal+ has even titled it “A Human Above All.”
