Cole Palmer sets remarkable Premier League record with ice cold panenka vs Tottenham

Cole Palmer delivered another impressive performance, breaking two records during Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea visited the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday for a thrilling London derby. Spurs initially led 2-0 thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski, but Jadon Sancho pulled one back for Chelsea in the 17th minute.

In the second half, Palmer equalized with a penalty after Yves Bissouma fouled Moisés Caicedo, who narrowly escaped a red card. Enzo Fernandez then completed the comeback with a volley in the 73rd minute, assisted by Palmer’s brilliant play. Palmer scored his second penalty in the 84th minute to make it 4-2.

His first penalty set a new Chelsea record for most Premier League goal contributions in a year, surpassing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s 23-year record. Palmer’s second penalty also made Premier League history as he became the first player to score all 12 of his penalties in the competition.

Jamie Carragher praised Palmer’s composure and skill, calling him a brilliant signing.

Despite a late goal from Son Heung-min, Chelsea held on for a 4-3 win, moving to second place in the league, just four points behind Liverpool.
