Todd Boehly’s Chelsea, managed by Enzo Maresca, is showing signs of improvement in the Premier League.
After the passing of former owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea experienced a dip in both performance and results.
However, following a significant £250 million investment in new players, the team is regaining momentum this season. While still trailing behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, Chelsea sits in second place, just four points off the top with one game in hand.
The atmosphere in London is once again buzzing with excitement, particularly in Chelsea’s district. Maresca has gained the trust of the fans, and the team’s performances are growing more convincing as the season progresses.
€100 Million Bid for Raphinha
Todd Boehly’s leadership of Chelsea has helped the club regain its stature in European football. Since taking over in the summer of 2022, Boehly has overseen €1.3 billion in player signings. Despite this, the club still has much work ahead to reach the top.
Chelsea is now reportedly focusing on Barcelona’s Raphinha, with El Nacional claiming they are ready to make a €100 million offer for the Brazilian winger. The club believes Raphinha would be an ideal partner for Cole Palmer in their attacking setup.
Hansi Flick Opposes Raphinha’s Departure
Raphinha, one of the fittest players in La Liga, is a vital part of Barcelona’s lineup, alongside Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has made it clear he does not want the winger to leave.
However, Barcelona’s ongoing financial struggles remain severe. While president Joan Laporta has sought to sell players like Araújo and Frenkie de Jong, finding buyers has proven difficult.
Raphinha, who joined Barcelona for €58 million in the summer of 2022, is content at the club and is committed to his contract until 2027. Yet, the club’s financial crisis is so dire that they cannot register new signings, such as Dani Olmo, for the second half of the season.
A Sale Barcelona Can’t Afford to Reject
Selling Raphinha would help alleviate Barcelona’s financial strain by freeing up wages and generating crucial income to avoid further financial issues.
Chelsea is well aware of Barcelona’s situation and is hopeful of securing Raphinha in January.
