It was a frustrating afternoon for Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday as they dropped two crucial points in a 2-2 draw with Fulham.
The match left manager Arne Slot’s team feeling aggrieved after Fulham avoided two possible red cards in the first ten minutes. Issa Diop and Andreas Pereira both escaped early dismissals for questionable tackles, with Pereira even giving Fulham the lead shortly after.
A video that has since gone viral on social media shows Mohamed Salah visibly frustrated with Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz after they failed to provide him with a clear opportunity that could have secured a comeback win for the Premier League leaders.
In the footage, Salah is seen unmarked just outside the six-yard box as Diaz receives the ball in the penalty area. Instead of passing to his teammate, Diaz tried to take on a wall of Fulham defenders and shot on goal himself. The ball then deflected to Jota, who also missed the opportunity to pass to the open Salah and instead shot over the bar from close range.
As the ball sailed into the stands, Salah turned away in disgust, looking up at the sky in frustration as his team let slip a chance to extend their lead at the top of the table, especially after Arsenal also failed to win against Everton.
