“We’ll See” – Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea & Newcastle All On Alert After €30m Star’s Latest Comments

Rayan Cherki has not ruled out leaving Lyon in the near future, with several Premier League clubs reportedly showing interest in the young talent.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been a standout player for Lyon in recent years. Since his debut in 2019, Cherki has scored 22 goals and provided 31 assists in 157 appearances across all competitions, highlighting his attacking prowess and technical skill.

Arne Slot recently praised a “remarkable” Liverpool player, noting his 96% pass completion rate and 100% success in aerial duels against Fulham, setting a benchmark for the high standards Cherki could potentially compete with in the Premier League.

Though Cherki extended his contract with Lyon until June 2026 in September, the club is facing significant financial difficulties. Despite sitting in fifth place in Ligue 1, Lyon is at risk of relegation if its financial issues are not addressed.

With a market value of €30 million, Cherki is Lyon’s most valuable asset, and selling him could be essential for alleviating the club’s financial strain. Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace have all been linked with the French international, setting up a competitive race for his signature.

While Lyon fans are eager to keep their star player, the club’s financial troubles may force them to sell, particularly if they receive a significant offer. A potential transfer could provide a crucial financial boost to help Lyon avoid relegation.

Cherki’s recent comments have only fueled speculation. After Lyon’s 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, he stated, “We’ll see at the end of the season if I’m still here or not.” This remark is likely to cause mixed reactions among Lyon supporters but will undoubtedly prompt Premier League clubs to step up their interest.

French outlet L’Équipe has even suggested that Cherki could leave as early as the January transfer window, as Lyon seeks to raise funds urgently to stabilize its financial situation and prevent relegation.
