Florentino Pérez: Carlo Ancelotti reveals everything ahead of 2025, “They have been clear with me”

The best coach of 2024 spoke candidly in front of the press this Sunday. After Real Madrid’s 4-2 victory over Sevilla FC, Carlo Ancelotti discussed his future as the new year approaches.

It’s official: Real Madrid has played its final match of 2024. In Sunday’s 18th round of La Liga against Sevilla FC, the team made the most of the opportunity. In front of a packed Santiago Bernabéu, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates dominated Sevilla. With goals from the French striker, a stunning strike by Federico Valverde, and two brilliant assists from Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz, Madrid earned the last three points of the year and moved ahead of Barcelona, who suffered a painful defeat to Atlético Madrid the previous night.

Ancelotti’s Comments After Sevilla

In his post-match comments, Ancelotti was in high spirits following the controlled victory. The 65-year-old coach spoke about how his team had turned things around after a rough patch in October and early November.

“After the defeat against Milan, the team had a clear conversation about the issues. And we solved them,” he said. He also pointed out, “We have improved our ability to build from the back, creating more chances for our attackers, who have been very effective.”

“The Club Never Showed Me Any Concern”

Despite media rumors suggesting that he was under pressure, Ancelotti made it clear that he had always felt supported by Florentino Pérez and the club’s leadership. “The club never showed me any concern. They have always shown affection, calm, and tranquility. This is what a coach needs during difficult times. I trust them, and they have been very clear with me,” he said.

It’s now clear that Ancelotti, known for his excellent management of players, is on course to complete the current season and possibly extend beyond 2025.

After Sunday’s match, Real Madrid will take a brief break and resume play on January 3 against Valencia. Ahead of this rescheduled match from the 12th round of La Liga, Vinícius Júnior, Federico Valverde, and the rest of the team will return to training on December 30.
