Liverpool Star Praises Mohamed Salah, Hopes for New Contract Agreement
Cody Gakpo has expressed his admiration for Mohamed Salah’s exceptional performances this season and shared his hope that the Egyptian forward will sign a new contract with Liverpool.
With Salah’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season and contract talks yet to reach a resolution, his future at the club remains uncertain. Starting January 1, Salah can negotiate with foreign clubs, but he continues to let his on-field performances do the talking. His stunning brace in Liverpool’s 6-3 win over Spurs took his Premier League tally to 15 goals, moving him up to fourth on the club’s all-time scorer list.
Gakpo, who himself has enjoyed a strong season with nine goals, spoke highly of Salah’s contributions both on and off the pitch. “What we’re seeing from him is truly special,” Gakpo said. “The goals, the assists, and his ability to involve teammates—like me—in creating scoring chances is at an elite level.”
He added, “We’re fortunate to have him here, and we’re proud to be his teammates. We always aim to support him in any way we can, just as he does for us.”
Reflecting on his own time at Liverpool, Gakpo said, “The past two years have been an amazing journey of growth and learning. I’m proud to be part of this team and optimistic about the future as we continue to improve as a group.”
