Alphonso Davies to Liverpool: O’Rourke shares ‘huge’ update today

Real Madrid are currently the frontrunners to sign Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, despite interest from Liverpool, according to sources reported by Football Insider.

On the latest Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke mentioned that while Liverpool have entered the race for the left-back, they will face stiff competition for his signature.

Davies is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world, and his situation is being closely monitored by top clubs, with Real Madrid in particular seen as favorites. His wealth of experience, with over 200 appearances for Bayern and 56 caps for Canada, has made him a sought-after player.

Given that he could be available on a free transfer, elite clubs across Europe are watching closely, but Real Madrid is believed to have already started working on a deal and are waiting for his contract to wind down.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also eyeing Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the right-back’s future at Liverpool still uncertain.

Though Liverpool are optimistic about retaining him, the club has started evaluating potential options for the left side of defense, amid growing concerns over Andrew Robertson’s future.

In other Liverpool news, it’s reported that Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are set to sign new contracts with the club.
