He Played Just Like Prime Gattuso. He Showed That There’s Still Hope For Manchester United Midfield. I Have Rumors That He Might Be Leaving But I’ll Make Sure That He Starts Every Match Next Season’: Paul Scholes Praises The Underrated Manchester United Player After The FA Cup Final Performance.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes praised midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after his outstanding performance in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

Amrabat, playing in the number six role, was chosen ahead of an unfit Casemiro for the match. The Moroccan international delivered a strong performance, making 37 touches and completing 93% of his passes (25 out of 27). He also won two duels, made two clearances, executed two tackles, and blocked a shot. Impressively, he only lost possession three times in such a high-stakes final.

Following United’s 2-1 victory, Scholes took to Instagram to commend Amrabat, comparing his performance to a “prime Gattuso.”

Amrabat, who joined United on loan from Fiorentina last summer amid much speculation, was initially signed for a €10 million loan fee. Though he started out playing as a left-back under Erik ten Hag, he later featured more regularly in midfield. After strong showings against Arsenal and Newcastle, he earned a starting spot in the final, making the most of his opportunity with an excellent performance.

With Casemiro’s form declining, United may consider making Amrabat’s transfer permanent for €20 million. However, the club’s new management could have different plans.

Meanwhile, Amrabat’s impressive recent form has attracted attention from Premier League clubs, with Fulham and Crystal Palace reportedly sending scouts to watch him.
