Real Madrid are reportedly targeting another Liverpool player in the upcoming transfer window, following their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
While Alexander-Arnold’s potential move to the Spanish club on a free transfer next summer seems increasingly likely, a new report suggests that Real Madrid are also interested in signing midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister, who has impressed with his performances in the Premier League this season, has caught the attention of the Spanish giants. They view him as a potential successor to Luka Modric, whose career is nearing its end at 39 years old. Since joining Liverpool from Brighton in 2023, Mac Allister has secured a regular starting role under both Jurgen Klopp and current manager Arne Slot.
With his strong all-around abilities in both defense and attack, Mac Allister would add further depth to Real Madrid’s already talented midfield, which includes stars like Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde. However, persuading Liverpool to part with the 26-year-old will be challenging.
The Reds are reportedly demanding a fee of at least €100 million (£83 million), and with Mac Allister’s contract running through 2028, Slot may be inclined to reject any approaches if he intends to keep the midfielder long term.
