Arsenal could replicate the success of their Trossard deal by targeting a “monster” player with a £60,000 weekly salary.
The club’s latest transfer target, Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, could follow the same successful formula as Leandro Trossard.

Recent reports suggest that negotiations with Cunha are progressing, although Wolverhampton is unlikely to sell unless they receive a large transfer fee, which could be as high as £90 million—potentially making Cunha Arsenal’s second most expensive signing ever.
While this would require a hefty financial commitment, the player’s talent and the club’s aspirations may make the investment worthwhile. If this deal goes through, it could mirror the success of Trossard’s signing two years ago.
The reasoning behind Arsenal’s interest in Cunha shares similarities with the Trossard deal. First, it represents an aggressive mid-season move, as the team pushes for their first Premier League title in two decades.
Despite Cunha earning £60,000 per week, there was little buzz around his potential transfer last summer.
Second, as with Trossard, Arsenal would be acquiring a prolific forward from a club outside the traditional top six.
Before joining Arsenal, Trossard had an impressive record of 7 goals and 3 assists in 17 games for Brighton, averaging a contribution every 1.7 games. This time, however, Cunha has been even more productive, with 10 goals and 4 assists in 20 matches, averaging a contribution every 1.42 games.
With Manchester City no longer in the title race, this may be Arsenal’s best chance to secure the Premier League championship.
While the deal would require a significant financial outlay, signing Cunha could be the key to pushing Arsenal ahead of Liverpool and into a successful title run over the next five months.
