Roy Keane delivered a harsh critique of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive performance during the first half of Liverpool’s match against Manchester United. The Liverpool defender struggled significantly, being easily bypassed multiple times and leaving his team exposed.
One of the early concerns came when Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot breezed past Alexander-Arnold and sent a dangerous cross towards Amad Diallo. Luckily for Liverpool, Diallo failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
Later, Alexander-Arnold was caught out again, failing to keep Rasmus Hojlund onside after a long ball was played over the top. The Danish striker found himself in a dangerous position but was ultimately thwarted by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
During his analysis on Sky Sports, Keane didn’t hold back, stating, “It’s too easy, just a couple of balls over the top. Trent’s defending is like schoolboy stuff.”
Keane also mocked the rumors linking Alexander-Arnold with a move to Real Madrid, joking, “Talking about going to Real Madrid? He’ll be off to Tranmere Rovers after this.”
