Chelsea will add another new signing to their squad for the second half of the season.

19-year-old Aaron Anselmino, who was acquired by Chelsea this summer, will join the first-team squad after being recalled from his loan at Boca Juniors.

The Argentine defender committed to Chelsea in a £14m transfer deal, but after finalizing the move, he returned to Boca for the remainder of the Argentine Primera División season, which concluded earlier this month. Anselmino made 11 league appearances during his time at Boca.

Now, the decision has been made for Anselmino to report to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground as they prepare for the second half of the season. The highly-rated defender was previously linked with moves to Manchester United and AC Milan before agreeing to join Chelsea.

Anselmino is expected to compete for a place in Enzo Maresca’s squad as Chelsea continue their impressive form under their new manager. With Chelsea aiming to maintain their strong performance, defensive reinforcements like Anselmino could play a key role.

There could also be further arrivals at Stamford Bridge, with the January transfer window about to open. Reports suggest Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap among the names on their radar.

Additionally, there may be some departures, with Ben Chilwell reportedly a potential target for sale as Chelsea looks to reduce their wage bill. Other players, including Carney Chukwuemeka, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, Harvey Vale, Axel Disasi, and Cesare Casadei, could also be available for transfer.
