Barcelona has reached an agreement to loan their club captain, Ronald Araujo, to Juventus. The Uruguayan defender is scheduled to travel to Turin next week for a medical examination before finalizing the deal.
According to La Repubblica, Araujo has agreed to the loan and is expected to sign the necessary paperwork after passing the medical.
The transfer follows weeks of speculation, with Juventus waiting on Barcelona’s decision. SPORT reports that a ruling by the Spanish Higher Council of Sports (CSD), which allowed Barcelona to avoid a La Liga penalty, played a key role in facilitating the move.
This transfer aligns with Barcelona’s efforts to trim their squad size, while Araujo looks forward to a new challenge in Italy with Juventus.
