‘Liverpool to sign Quansah replacement in January’ : Fans react amid Spurs clash

Jarell Quansah’s injury during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham has led many fans to insist that the club must sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window.

Liverpool only made one signing in the summer, bringing in Federico Chiesa, who struggled for playing time and recently quashed rumors of an early departure. Since the transfer window reopened this month, the club has yet to make any new additions.

While manager Arne Slot has stated he is satisfied with his squad, he is open to exploring opportunities to strengthen it, according to The Independent.

However, the recent injury to Quansah has heightened concerns among fans, who believe Liverpool needs to add depth at centre-back. The club has already faced fitness problems in this position, with Ibrahim Konate just returning from injury and Joe Gomez unavailable.

In the Spurs match, Quansah was forced off after just 30 minutes, and midfielder Wataru Endo, who may have an uncertain future at the club, was brought in to partner Virgil van Dijk in central defence.

This situation exposed Liverpool’s lack of depth in the centre-back role, prompting many supporters to take to social media, urging the club to sign a new centre-back.

Some fans described failing to do so as “neglect,” while others expressed concern that the team might have to rely on players from the U18 squad.
