PSG Set to Finalize Kvaratskhelia’s Transfer Soon
Fabrizio Romano, the transfer expert, shared on X (formerly Twitter) that PSG has “agreed every term” of the Georgian winger’s contract.
Kvaratskhelia is set to receive a significantly higher salary than the £32,496-per-week he currently earns at Napoli.
PSG and the player have agreed on a five-year deal, with the salary potentially four to five times his current wages.
Negotiations with Napoli are ongoing, with a new meeting scheduled for next week to finalize the transfer.
Was Liverpool Seriously Interested?
It’s essential to clarify that Liverpool was not actively pursuing Kvaratskhelia this January, even though they certainly recognize his considerable talent.
David Ornstein mentioned on Thursday that Liverpool had some interest in Kvaratskhelia and might consider a move if he became a viable market opportunity.
However, now that Kvaratskhelia has confirmed his desire to leave in January, this could be seen as an opportunity for Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes. Yet, PSG appears to have already made significant progress on the deal, making it unlikely Liverpool will secure the winger.
While it’s disappointing, it’s not a huge loss for a squad already blessed with quality options on the left wing, including Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.
