The January transfer window is heating up as we approach the final stretch before the deadline on February 1. Several major deals have already been wrapped up, with clubs looking to bolster their squads for the second half of the season.
Chelsea is on the verge of completing a record-breaking deal for Naomi Girma, the USWNT defender, making history as the first woman in football to be transferred for $1 million. Girma, who shone in the NWSL and at the 2023 World Cup, is regarded as one of the best defenders in women’s football. Her versatile defensive skills and strong ball-carrying abilities have made her a sought-after player, and Chelsea is set to secure her signature.
