Diogo Jota has acknowledged that Mohamed Salah is a better finisher than he is and also expressed his desire for Liverpool to sign Bernardo Silva.
The Portuguese forward, often regarded as one of Liverpool’s most natural finishers, has been compared to club legend Robbie Fowler in the past. Jota, 28, has scored 64 goals in 164 appearances for the Reds, including eight in 19 games this season, though injury setbacks have kept him from being more consistent.
While Jota has struggled with injuries, Salah has been in remarkable form, scoring 23 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Salah has surpassed the 20-goal mark in every season since joining Liverpool, while Jota has done so once in his five years at the club. Jota admits that Salah is a better finisher, placing both him and Erling Haaland in the top tier of finishers in the Premier League.
When discussing Liverpool’s greatest-ever players, Jota acknowledged Salah’s importance, saying the Egyptian should definitely be in the conversation.
Additionally, Jota named Bernardo Silva as the one player he would like to see at Liverpool from a rival team, calling the Manchester City star “outstanding” and “very clever.” However, Jota also admitted that he doesn’t enjoy watching Silva play for City, given their rivalry, even though they are close friends off the pitch.
