Andy Robertson was fortunate to escape a significant error early in Liverpool’s match against West Ham United.
In the 6th minute, he lost possession in his own half, creating a 2v2 opportunity for the hosts.
Luckily for Robertson, West Ham couldn’t capitalize on the chance, with Lucas Paquetá sending his shot wide.
However, Liverpool fans are frustrated with Robertson, many seeing him as the weak link in the defense. Here’s a sampling of reactions from Twitter (X):
Ian: “Robertson is damaging his legacy at Liverpool. He keeps making careless mistakes. He’s lucky that didn’t end in a goal, as usual.”
Ty McEarchen: “Robertson was the best left-back in the world for a few years, but now I just can’t trust him anymore, and it’s heartbreaking.”
LZ: “Not only is Robertson out of form, but his style doesn’t fit possession-based systems, in my opinion.”
Falsesixes: “Andrew Robertson, I love you as a Scotsman and a Liverpool fan, but it might be time for someone else in your position.”
Tenacity: “Robertson is currently the weak link for Liverpool.”
Will: “Robertson is clearly a weak point in this Liverpool team. They need to replace him in January, or he’ll be their Achilles’ heel.”
