Slot Provides Injury Update as Liverpool Star Struggles and Key Duo Return to Boost Reds

Liverpool will face Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday, and ahead of the match, Arne Slot has shared an update on the Reds’ injury situation.

Liverpool have been exceptional in the early stages of the 2024/25 season, currently leading both the Premier League and Champions League, while also advancing to the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

In stark contrast, Manchester United has struggled, sitting 14th in the league with just six wins from 19 matches. The Red Devils have lost their last four games, and manager Ruben Amorim has even raised concerns about the possibility of relegation.

A visit to Anfield couldn’t come at a worse time for United, and their task has become even more challenging with Liverpool set to welcome back two key players. However, Slot also revealed that one Liverpool player is currently “not in a good place.”

Liverpool Boosted by Key Player Returns Ahead of Manchester United Clash

In a press briefing on Friday, Arne Slot confirmed that Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley would return to full training, making them likely candidates for Sunday’s match.

This news is a significant boost for the Dutch manager, with Konate having been a pivotal figure in Liverpool’s strong start to the season, and Bradley providing crucial backup to Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

However, Slot also confirmed that Joe Gomez will be sidelined for several weeks due to the injury he sustained against West Ham.

The injury has left Gomez in a difficult situation, with Slot explaining, “Not in a good place with his injury… out for a few weeks,” according to James Pearce.

While Gomez’s absence is a blow, the return of Konate offers much-needed relief for Slot and the Liverpool defense.
