Liverpool Set to Disrupt Garnacho’s €70m Chelsea Move
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, according to Italian sources.
Adeyemi has been at the center of a major transfer drama this January, with Napoli targeting the German winger as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after his €70 million move to PSG. Napoli had also been in discussions with Manchester United over Alejandro Garnacho, who is reportedly Antonio Conte’s top choice. However, due to Garnacho’s €70 million asking price, Napoli shifted their focus to Adeyemi last week and even reached an initial agreement with Dortmund.

The issue for Napoli is that Adeyemi, despite Dortmund’s struggles this season, isn’t keen on leaving mid-season. This has led Napoli to renew their interest in Garnacho, while Chelsea have also been in talks for his signature.
The situation has taken another twist, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that Liverpool have entered the fray. They’re now monitoring Adeyemi’s situation, encouraged by Dortmund’s willingness to sell the winger for around €40 million. However, Liverpool are not planning a move this January; instead, they’re reportedly hoping Adeyemi will stay at Dortmund until the summer, at which point they will act.
With Napoli pushing for Garnacho again and Liverpool interested in Adeyemi, Chelsea could find themselves left out of the race for both players, despite their own interest in strengthening their attack.
A transfer battle between Chelsea and Liverpool for Adeyemi is now a real possibility, echoing their rivalry over Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in 2023.
