BREAKING: Arsenal Complete £60M Signing of South American Star
Arsenal have completed the £60 million signing of a South American player, with the new recruit set to undergo a medical today and begin training later this week, according to reports.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig has confirmed they have no intention of letting Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko leave before the end of the January transfer window. The Bundesliga club is determined to keep the Slovenian striker until at least the summer, despite speculation linking him to the Gunners after Gabriel Jesus’s long-term injury earlier in January.
Arsenal have been searching for a new striker after Jesus was ruled out for the rest of the season following ACL surgery, joining a growing list of injuries that includes Bukayo Saka, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Fabrizio Romano shared on his YouTube channel that Leipzig is firm in their stance regarding Sesko: “They have absolutely no intention of allowing his departure before the window closes.” The club plans to retain him for the remainder of the season, although Sesko will remain on Arsenal’s radar for the summer transfer window.
Sesko, who signed a long-term deal with Leipzig last summer, has been a standout performer this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 3 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. No Leipzig player has been involved in more goals than Sesko’s 17 this term.
With their hopes of landing Sesko this month dashed, Arsenal has reportedly shifted their focus to Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, with the French forward said to be open to a move to the Emirates.
However, Tel is also attracting interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United.
