Arsenal have reportedly come to terms with Borussia Dortmund to sign rising star Karim Adeyemi, according to Spanish news outlet Fichajes.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, has quickly established himself as a crucial player at Signal Iduna Park.
Since his arrival at Dortmund, Adeyemi has impressed with his speed, skill, and game-changing abilities. In his recent appearances across the Bundesliga and Champions League, he has scored five goals and provided four assists in just nine starts.
Though his season was briefly disrupted by an injury, the German international has fully recovered and is now a regular starter.
Adeyemi’s performances have caught the eye of several clubs, including Serie A leaders Napoli, who were reportedly interested in him as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the winter transfer window.
Napoli engaged in talks with Dortmund to bring Adeyemi to Italy, but the negotiations ultimately fell through.
Reports suggest that Napoli backed off after discovering Adeyemi had already agreed to a move to another club next summer.
It now appears that Arsenal is the frontrunner for the young forward’s signature, with the Gunners showing strong interest. Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be impressed with Adeyemi’s technical skills and sees him as a key addition to strengthen the team’s attack.
Arsenal are reportedly ready to pay a significant fee to secure Adeyemi’s transfer, highlighting their ambition in the upcoming transfer window. The forward is currently valued at around £29 million, and his contract with Dortmund runs until 2027.
Given Dortmund’s history of selling players, the club may be open to parting ways with Adeyemi next summer to maximize the transfer fee.
Adeyemi’s versatility, able to play on either wing or as a central striker, is another asset that could be valuable to Arsenal as they seek to enhance their attacking options.
While Bukayo Saka remains the primary choice for the right wing, Ethan Nwaneri has shown enough promise to be considered a viable backup. On the left wing, although Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are in the squad, neither has consistently delivered the expected impact.
Adding a dynamic player like Adeyemi could be a wise move for Arteta and his coaching staff.
While the deal seems promising, only time will tell if Arsenal can finalize the agreement and integrate Adeyemi into their squad next summer.
