Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann believes Darwin Nunez would have been a perfect fit for Arsenal, especially as the club faces an injury crisis and a shortage of strikers.
“I think the team is well-equipped, but the lack of a centre-forward is obviously what I think harms their chances,” Hamann said about Arsenal.

He continued, “I think Nunez would be gold for Arsenal. He’s someone who can bully defenders and draw attention from two or three of them. He’s a big guy, quick, and that changes the game. Having someone with physical presence and pace up front completely shifts the dynamics.”
Hamann highlighted how Nunez’s presence would create more space for players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard. “Arsenal always find space, but it’s easier for those players when quick players stretch teams. They just haven’t got that right now.”
While Hamann believes Nunez would be a brilliant addition to Arsenal’s squad, he acknowledges that it’s too late for such a move to happen, and the club will have to make do with what they currently have.
