Hansi Flick Reflects on Barcelona’s 1-0 Win Over Rayo Vallecano

Hansi Flick shared his thoughts on Barcelona’s hard-fought 1-0 victory against Rayo Vallecano, a win that has propelled them to the top of La Liga. The match saw Robert Lewandowski score the only goal from the penalty spot after a foul on Iñigo Martínez.

Although Barcelona didn’t play their best football, Flick was pleased with the crucial three points.

“It was a very difficult match against a great rival,” Flick said. “We are very happy. The players are very happy. We all are happy with the situation. I think we played well today, but we can also do better.”

Flick acknowledged the challenge posed by Rayo Vallecano, particularly their nine-game unbeaten streak.

He emphasized the importance of the win, not just for the standings, but also for the fans. “Getting that first place is positive for the fans. Now we are back and we are very happy,” he added.

Regarding Rayo’s disallowed goal, Flick opted not to engage in controversy, saying, “I haven’t seen the situation. I think we have VAR, and I believe in VAR. That’s all I can say about controversial plays.”

With the win, Barcelona now lead La Liga on goal difference, ahead of Real Madrid, while Atlético Madrid trails by just one point.
