Liverpool are reportedly considering AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as the ideal replacement for Luis Diaz, whose future at Anfield is uncertain amid ongoing interest from Barcelona.

The Spanish club, led by director Deco, is eager to sign the Colombian winger, and Diaz is said to be open to the move.

While Liverpool may be willing to sell Diaz, the 28-year-old has faced a dip in form recently, scoring only two goals in his last 10 appearances. Despite this, Diaz continues to play a key role in Liverpool’s pursuit of a potential treble this season.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding Diaz’s future, Liverpool is looking into possible replacements, with Leao emerging as a strong candidate.

According to a report from Football365, manager Arne Slot sees the 25-year-old Portuguese international as the perfect replacement. Leao, who has had an excellent season with Milan, contributing nine goals and eight assists, has an impressive career record of 67 goals and 57 assists in 246 appearances for the club.

The report suggests Liverpool are in a better financial position to sign Leao than Barcelona, and the winger is reportedly more inclined to move to the Premier League.

If Diaz were to leave, Leao would be a marquee addition to Liverpool’s squad, but whether Barcelona can meet Liverpool’s asking price for Diaz remains to be seen.
