Liverpool is facing significant injury concerns as Arsenal continues to close the gap in the Premier League title race.

Cody Gakpo and Conor Bradley may miss the upcoming match against Manchester City due to injuries. Recent weeks have seen Liverpool drop points, including a 2-2 draw against both Everton and Aston Villa, while Arsenal secured a late 2-0 win over Leicester City. As a result, Arsenal has narrowed the points gap to eight, with a game in hand.

Liverpool’s match schedule was altered due to their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, with Arsenal now having played fewer matches. Arsenal will host West Ham next, potentially reducing the gap to five points before Liverpool faces Manchester City. Despite their recent form and a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, Manchester City remains a formidable opponent.

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, confirmed that Gakpo’s participation in the Etihad clash remains uncertain, calling it a “close call.” He also noted that Bradley’s injury might keep him out for the foreseeable future. Additionally, Joe Gomez recently underwent surgery and is out for an extended period, though he may return before the season ends. Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold played less than 90 minutes in their last match after returning from injury. Bradley was substituted after a minor injury during the Villa game.

For Arsenal, while no returns are expected for their match against West Ham, Ben White may make his first appearance in over three months after being named to the matchday squad against Leicester, though he was not used as a substitute.
