Pedri, Raphinha, and Yamal are frustrated with the automatic extension of the contract for the team’s struggling star following the Las Palmas match.

Barcelona, under the management of coach Hansi Flick, earned a 2-0 win over Las Palmas at the “De Gran Canaria” stadium in the 25th round of La Liga. Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres scored for Barcelona in the 62nd and 90+6th minutes. With this victory, Barcelona moved to the top of the Spanish League standings with 54 points, having won 17 matches, drawn 3, and lost 5.

According to reports from the Catalan newspaper Sport, Polish star Robert Lewandowski will remain at Barcelona for an additional season after playing 55% of the matches this season, triggering an automatic renewal clause in his contract. His participation in the first half of the Las Palmas match confirmed his continued stay at the club until 2026.

Sources close to the club reveal that Barcelona players Pedri, Yamal, and Raphinha are unhappy with this decision, believing that Lewandowski no longer brings anything new to the team. The trio feels that Barcelona should invest in a younger striker who can bring more speed, energy, and pressure to the opposition’s defense—qualities they feel Lewandowski lacks due to his advancing age.
