Rio Ferdinand has criticized Manchester United for loaning out a highly talented player while relying on Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund as their main attacking options. The club legend expressed disbelief, calling the decision one of the biggest mistakes in football history.

United’s attacking struggles this season have been noticeable. While Højlund has shown potential, his consistency has been questioned, and Zirkzee has yet to win over the fans.

Meanwhile, the player loaned out by United has been performing excellently elsewhere, demonstrating he should have been given a chance at Old Trafford.

On his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand urgently urged the club to recall the player:

“I can’t believe they loaned out such a quality player to keep Zirkzee and Højlund… This must be the craziest mistake in football history! If I’m Manchester United, I’m bringing him back right now. No questions asked!”

Fans have shared Ferdinand’s frustration on social media, criticizing the club’s decision. Many believe this could be yet another instance of United failing to recognize top talent until it’s too late.

It remains to be seen whether United will act swiftly to bring him back or if this will be added to the growing list of poor transfer decisions at Old Trafford.
