Liverpool is reportedly eyeing a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk, with “serious interest” in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.
Despite the 22-year-old Brazilian recently signing an extension with Forest that runs until 2029, sources suggest he would consider a move to Anfield if a fee could be agreed upon.
However, Forest is said to value him at around £80 million, especially since top clubs like Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest.
While van Dijk remains Liverpool’s captain for now, the club is already planning for his eventual departure, which could happen as soon as this summer. If a move for Murillo materializes, he would be seen as a long-term replacement for the Dutch defender, offering a like-for-like option in the heart of Liverpool’s defense.
Despite Forest’s reluctance to sell, they would likely look for a substantial fee if the player’s head is turned by the prospect of a big move.
