BREAKING NEWS: Liverpool Target Chelsea Star for Summer Move

Liverpool are reportedly looking to bolster their defense in the summer transfer window, with three central defenders on their radar.

One of the key targets for Liverpool is Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, with the Reds not ruling out a move for the young Blues star, having previously shown interest in him, according to Rousing the Kop. Alongside Colwill, Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is also on Liverpool’s shortlist, with Fabrizio Romano linking the Dutch defender to Chelsea in the past. The third name on Liverpool’s list is Sporting Lisbon’s Gonçalo Inácio, as reported by RTK.

Who Should Liverpool Sign This Summer?

While Liverpool already boasts a solid central defensive partnership in Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, adding a promising young defender could be a strategic move. Van Dijk is approaching the end of his contract, and the club may soon need to find a long-term successor.

Even if Van Dijk stays at Anfield, bringing in a young talent like Colwill or Huijsen could offer the opportunity for gradual integration into the first team, eventually stepping into a starting role.

Colwill has faced an inconsistent season at Chelsea but remains highly regarded as a promising defender. A move to Liverpool, currently a more stable and well-structured club, could provide the environment needed for him to continue his development.

On the other hand, Huijsen—who reportedly has a £50m release clause according to TEAMtalk—may be a more attainable target than Colwill, especially considering the challenges of signing a homegrown player from a direct rival.
