Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards Walk Off CBS Sports Set After Alisson Becker’s Comments

Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards were seen walking off the CBS Sports set after hearing what Alisson Becker said during his post-match interview.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was the standout player in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash. Alisson made an incredible nine saves to keep PSG at bay, before Harvey Elliott scored in the 87th minute to secure a crucial victory at the Parc des Princes.

With this result, Liverpool now holds the advantage ahead of the return leg at Anfield next week.

After the match, Alisson was interviewed by Carragher, Richards, Thierry Henry, and Kate Scott on CBS Sports. During the interview, former Manchester City defender Richards asked Alisson if he had seen their show and the clips online. Alisson confirmed he had, and Richards then asked, “Okay perfect, so who’s your favorite?”

Richards attempted to impress Alisson by showcasing his Portuguese skills, to which Alisson responded with praise: “Nice Portuguese by the way, I think I would have to say Thierry, legend. When I was growing up, I watched a lot of Arsenal in the early 2000s when he was playing. So, it was the only team that was showing on the TV in Brazil.”

At this point, both Richards and Carragher stood up and walked off the set as Alisson continued to praise Henry. Richards jokingly remarked, “I’ve had enough of this.”

Henry thanked Alisson before turning the conversation to more technical matters, discussing his outstanding performance during the match.

Reflecting on Alisson’s impact, match-winner Elliott commented, “This guy is unbelievable. The best in the world. Every game he shows it, he keeps us in so many games. Tonight I had an opportunity to repay this man.”

Elliott continued, “I don’t know where we would be without him. Hopefully, he can keep stopping them going in and we can keep finishing chances. A good team performance.”
