Report: Liverpool Star Darwin Núñez Offers Himself to Barcelona

Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez has reportedly made the decision to offer himself to Barcelona, as he looks for a transfer away from Anfield this summer.

Despite once being hailed as a promising talent during his time at Benfica, the Uruguayan international has struggled to find his best form since joining Liverpool.

Núñez’s future at Liverpool appears uncertain, and he’s actively seeking new opportunities ahead of the upcoming season. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds forward has reached out to Barcelona to inform them of his availability for a potential move.

Currently, Robert Lewandowski is Barcelona’s first-choice striker, but with the Polish forward nearing 37, there could soon be a role for a player like Núñez at the Nou Camp.

However, Barcelona has not yet made a decision regarding the potential deal, with manager Hansi Flick expected to evaluate the possibility further. While Núñez has shown glimpses of his potential, his struggles in the Premier League may make it unlikely that Barcelona would pursue him seriously. The 25-year-old has only managed 40 goals in 135 appearances for Liverpool, and his inability to secure a starting spot under manager Arne Slot only adds to his uncertainty.

Although some clubs across Europe might consider a move for Núñez, it remains doubtful whether top-tier teams like Barcelona would be keen to invest in him given his recent poor form.

Liverpool would likely be open to selling the South American forward, but finding a buyer willing to meet their expectations may prove challenging.
