Kevin De Bruyne’s upcoming exit from Manchester City has stirred fresh speculation about where he might go next, especially after expressing openness to remaining in the Premier League.
Earlier this month, the Belgian midfielder confirmed he’ll leave City at the end of the season when his contract expires, ending a remarkable ten-year stint at the club.
What caught fans off guard was De Bruyne’s admission that he’s still open to offers from other Premier League clubs. At 33, while acknowledging he’s no longer at his peak, he emphasized his belief that he can still perform at the highest level.
In a conversation with Fjortoft, De Bruyne shared:
“There’s always a challenge out there. I’m not sure what next season holds. If a club presents a strong sporting project, I’m willing to consider it. I’m obviously not the youngest, but I feel I can still compete. I don’t know yet which teams are interested. I love the game, and if the right offer comes along — and it suits my family — we’ll consider it.”
He added that the decision to leave City was recent, and that he hasn’t had time to talk with his family yet. “Nothing happens quickly in football. I’ll speak to my family and see what options come up.”
