Paul Joyce Highlights 13 Transfer Targets for Arne Slot This Summer

Liverpool looks poised for a title and an active summer, with Arne Slot preparing to leave his mark on the squad.

In an article for The Times, Paul Joyce shared details about the club’s potential plans: “Although Liverpool are close to winning the league, Arne Slot wants to reshape the team to reach new heights. His lengthy transfer wishlist is designed to help the Reds compete on all fronts once again.”

A wide range of players has already been linked with a move to Anfield. These include forwards like Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Julián Álvarez (Atletico Madrid), Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth). Defensive targets include Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen (both from Bournemouth), as well as Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen). Other notable names include Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Arda Güler (Real Madrid), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Rayan Cherki (Lyon), Jorrel Hato (Ajax), and Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton). Social media seems to introduce new names almost daily.

While it’s a lengthy list, it reflects how actively the club is scouting new additions.

At the moment, a forward and a left-back appear to be top priorities—Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez are reportedly leading contenders for those roles.

That said, plenty can change between now and the close of the transfer window.

Virgil van Dijk also appears confident that significant investment will be made, reinforcing his decision to remain at the club.

Interestingly, this push for signings contrasts with earlier comments from Slot, who played down talk of a busy summer ahead of the Leicester match. Whether that was a strategic move or plans have changed—perhaps influenced by Mo Salah and Van Dijk signing new deals—remains to be seen.
