However, speculation about his future has been unavoidable, with his contract—along with those of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold—set to expire at the end of the season.
Back in November, Salah made headlines when he admitted he had yet to receive an offer to stay at the club, suggesting he was “probably more out than in.” Linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and the Saudi Pro League, there has been little recent movement regarding his next steps.
However, the newly surfaced images have given Liverpool supporters hope. Fans recalled that Salah’s last contract extension announcement was accompanied by pictures of him on a boat, leading many to wonder if history is repeating itself.
One Reddit user joked, “If you think I’m going to be so stupid as to believe this single photo means he’s signed a new contract, then you’d be correct.” Another added, “His previous renewal was announced when he was by the sea—here’s hoping it’s the same theme again.”
Fueling the excitement, journalist Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato reported that Salah is close to signing a new deal with Liverpool, stating that a “full agreement” is near and that the club is confident of keeping their star player.
