Andy Robertson took to social media to bid an emotional farewell to teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, following the confirmation that the right-back will be leaving Liverpool this summer.
Both under outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp and incoming boss Arne Slot, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have been crucial assets, providing consistent quality on the flanks. However, while Slot celebrated a Premier League title in his first season, he’ll have to face his second campaign without Alexander-Arnold, who announced his departure on May 5.
The 26-year-old is expected to make a high-profile move to Real Madrid once his contract ends, prompting Liverpool to begin the search for his replacement.
Robertson, who may also be nearing the end of his time at Anfield amid calls for an upgrade at left-back, remains with the team for now. He paid tribute to Alexander-Arnold via Instagram, writing: “Brother for life!! We’ve been through it all together! I will miss you legend.”
As Liverpool prepares for a defensive reshuffle, Robertson’s future is uncertain, particularly with his performances coming under scrutiny and the defender turning 31. Still, his leadership in the squad remains valued.
