Liverpool Reportedly Target Lautaro Martinez Following Alexander-Arnold Exit

Liverpool may be setting their sights on a high-profile addition this summer, as Alexis Mac Allister has reportedly recommended Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez to the club. With Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to leave for Real Madrid, the Reds are looking to reshape the squad—and Mac Allister hopes to reunite with his Argentina teammate at Anfield.

According to El Crack Deportivo (via Anfield Watch), Mac Allister believes Lautaro would be a perfect fit at Liverpool, given their chemistry with the national team. The Argentine midfielder has urged the club to act swiftly.

Liverpool are expected to pursue a new striker, especially with uncertainty around Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. Nunez had attracted interest from Saudi side Al-Nassr in January, while Jota has been linked to several European clubs.

Although Liverpool have been linked to other forwards like Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Jonathan David, Lautaro’s consistent goal-scoring for both Inter and Argentina makes him a standout candidate. He has netted 21 goals in Serie A this season and 8 in the Champions League, helping Inter reach the semi-finals. He also won the Golden Boot in the 2024 Copa America.

However, prying him away from Inter Milan won’t be easy, with the club reportedly valuing him at around €100 million—potentially making him Liverpool’s most expensive signing ever.
