Premier League Giants Chase Flamengo’s Teenage Sensation, Lorran

Flamengo’s 17-year-old attacking midfielder, Lorran Lucas Pereira de Sousa, is attracting serious interest from European heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Born in 2006, Lorran is already regarded as one of Brazil’s brightest young talents and is currently being scouted by multiple top clubs.

Romano shared on X (formerly Twitter) that both clubs have recently sent scouts to watch the youngster. Lorran has a €50 million release clause in his Flamengo contract and is signed to Roc Nation Sports Brazil, the same agency that represents Vinicius Jr., Martinelli, and Endrick.

Who is Lorran?
Lorran rose through Flamengo’s youth academy and turned professional on his 16th birthday. In January 2024, he made his senior debut and became the youngest goalscorer in Flamengo history during his second match. So far, he has made several first-team appearances and has featured for Brazil’s U17 squad.

Why the Interest?
Lorran is praised for his creativity, technical skills, and maturity on the ball. He’s seen as a potential world-class talent, with comparisons being made to other Brazilian stars like Vinicius Jr.

Other Interested Clubs:
Besides United and Chelsea, Real Madrid’s renowned scout Juni Calafat is reportedly watching Lorran closely. Manchester City, Brighton, and West Ham are also said to be monitoring the midfielder’s progress.

Flamengo are not rushing to sell and are expected to hold firm on his €50m price tag. However, any move to Europe would only be possible after he turns 18 in 2025.
