Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal is making moves to sign Liverpool duo Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz in a potential €160 million deal, according to sources close to the matter.
Darwin Nunez is expected to be sold this summer, with Liverpool looking to bring in a new striker. The Uruguayan forward is valued at approximately €80 million, and his departure seems increasingly likely given his underwhelming performances and limited opportunities under incoming manager Arne Slot, compared to his time under Jurgen Klopp. Aside from interest from Saudi Arabia, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring Nunez, though they’re unlikely to meet Liverpool’s current price tag.
As for Luis Diaz, Liverpool would prefer to keep the Colombian winger, especially with Slot keen on retaining him. However, a substantial offer—reportedly also around €80 million—might prompt the club to reconsider. Diaz has shown consistent top-level potential, and while past interest from Barcelona and PSG didn’t lead to a transfer, Al Hilal appear serious about acquiring him.
Liverpool are expected to demand a high-quality replacement if Diaz is sold. One name under consideration is Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, appreciated for his versatility across the front line
