Barcelona’s Potential Starting XI vs Espanyol Features 5 Major Changes

Barcelona are set to take on Espanyol in a decisive La Liga clash on Thursday (15 May), aiming to secure the 2024/25 league title. A win would put them beyond the reach of Real Madrid and the rest of the competition, with two matches still remaining.

Following a physically demanding 4-3 victory over Real Madrid, head coach Hansi Flick is expected to rotate the squad to manage player fatigue.

The defense is likely to see multiple changes. Pau Cubarsi may be sidelined due to a minor injury and could be replaced by Ronald Araujo. Inigo Martinez may also make way for Andreas Christensen, who impressed against Real Madrid. Alejandro Balde is likely to return to the starting lineup as well.

In midfield and attack, Dani Olmo may be rested, with Fermin Lopez expected to bring added energy. Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski is likely to start as he continues his pursuit of the Pichichi trophy.

Predicted Barcelona XI vs Espanyol:
Szczesny; Garcia, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Fermin, Raphinha; Lewandowski
