Liverpool had anticipated this change and identified Frimpong earlier in the year as the ideal successor. According to German outlet *Kicker*, negotiations between the club and Frimpong have progressed smoothly, with an agreement now imminent.
The 24-year-old’s release clause allowed Liverpool to open talks without needing Leverkusen’s consent. He is expected to officially sign once the first summer transfer window opens on June 1. The window runs until June 10 before a brief pause and reopening on June 16.
