Arsenal Eye Replacement for Martinelli, Target Nico Williams and Gyokeres

Arsenal are actively looking to strengthen their attacking options during the summer transfer window, with a new wide forward high on their agenda. According to sources from Football Insider, the club is considering a replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, who, despite making 49 appearances this season, has underperformed compared to Bukayo Saka, contributing 10 goals and six assists.

Saka remains the first-choice winger on the right, and Arsenal’s focus is on reinforcing the left side. Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is among their top targets. The Gunners have reportedly decided against making Raheem Sterling’s loan permanent.

In addition to a winger, Arsenal are also targeting a new central striker due to the injury struggles of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres has been identified as their main striker target.

Martinelli, 23, has been rotated with Leandro Trossard this season as Arsenal came up short in both the Premier League and Champions League. He is under contract until 2027, with an option for an additional year.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are preparing to hold contract talks with William Saliba to fend off interest from Real Madrid, who are known for pursuing players nearing the end of their deals. Saliba’s current contract runs until June 2027, and manager Mikel Arteta is eager to secure his long-term future at the Emirates.
