Mbappe’s Cheeky Remark During El Clasico
Despite scoring a hat-trick, Kylian Mbappe couldn’t prevent Real Madrid’s 4-3 loss to Barcelona in the recent El Clasico. Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have now won all four Clasicos this season. Before scoring his first goal from the penalty spot, Mbappe was humorously confronted by several Barcelona players who disputed the penalty call. He pointed to his Real Madrid shirt and joked, “Look at my shirt, it’s white not yellow. I’m not the referee.”
Though Real Madrid started strong, Barcelona quickly turned the tide with goals from Eric Garcia, Lamine Yamal, and two from Raphinha. Mbappe’s late goal only served as a consolation. With this win, Barcelona now sit seven points ahead of Real Madrid and are just one victory away from clinching the La Liga title.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid and their summer signing Mbappe face the rare prospect of ending the season without silverware.
